Since then she has worked as an independent consultant and educator, served as executive director of the AIMS society, and was director of member services for the PIA of Virginia and the District of Columbia before she began working at NetVU, where she has been serving as CEO since 2015.

In 2004 Spencer became the youngest President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Connecticut and is currently Chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. Spencer has testified about a variety of insurance issues on Capitol Hill to each chamber of Congress, numerous times. In addition to appearing on a variety of shows on Fox Business, CNBC and CNN, he's also been a recurring guest on Fox television's 'Fox and Friends' to discuss insurance and small business matters.
